“Will my cracked Macbook screen get worse over time?”

Shilpa works at the Parkerton Inn in Cape Carteret, North Carolina and sent in a Repair Form a couple days ago about the cracked screen on her white 13-inch unibody Macbook. Although only a small part of the LCD was actually cracked, she knew that it would get worse over time so she wanted to get it taken care of before it was too broken to use.

We emailed her the UPS label and instructions for getting her Macbook shipped out. Luckily for her, the UPS store was only a mile from her work so she took it there on her lunch break. We received it two days later and performed the repair same day. Did we mention that the shipping was free both ways?

Orlando may have Disneyworld, but they don’t have a good Macbook screen repair team…

Evan loves everything about living in Florida, from living right near Disneyworld to having great weather for most of the year. But when he broke the screen on his 13-inch white Macbook, he was cursing out his city that they didn’t have a local, affordable Macbook screen repair company. He did some Google searching, and landed on CrackedMacScreen.com. He read about the Ship-In Program and liked what he heard.

He reached out to us because he had some additional questions. He wanted to know what would happen if he didn’t have a credit card. We told him that he would be able to include a check or money order with his Macbook if he couldn’t pay with his credit card. He ended up doing so, and it worked out well for us and for him. His Macbook was shipped out on a Monday and he got it back on Wednesday, good as new!

You may remember John from Long Island. He drove in to Philadelphia to get the glass replaced on his 15-inch Macbook Pro. His son came with him, and actually, his son was the one who broke it in the first place. We replaced his glass and didn’t hear from John again until late May. He emailed us telling us that his son broke the glass again!

We told him that we would be able to provide overnight shipping for his repair, and it would only cost $200 instead of $399. For 13-inch Macbooks the second repair is $100, but for most other repairs it’s at least $200 (ask your Repair Tech for details).

We emailed him a FedEx overnight label and he shipped his Macbook Pro to us. We swapped out the glass and it looks back to new! Hopefully his son will take it easy on it this time!

“I’m absolutely terrible with technology!”…

Sheila admits that she isn’t great with technology. She didn’t think she was bad enough to crack the LCD on her aluminum Macbook Pro, but she did! She did a little research online and found that we offered the most affordable and fastest way of getting her Macbook Pro repaired.

Once we explained the process to her, she loved it. We emailed her an overnight label and she shipped it out on Monday. We received it on Tuesday, did the repair in 2 hours, and emailed her a before and after picture to show how awesome her screen looked. We also included a PayPal payment link. Once we received payment, we overnighted the computer back to her. Did we mention that two-way overnight shipping is included for free?!

Vida gave us a call last weekend about her white Macbook. She broke the screen last October(!) and has been using her desktop iMac ever since. She just landed a sweet new job in Boston, so she decided that it was finally time to get her Mac fixed. She had seen our Septa platform ads a while back, so she knew exactly who to call.

But actually, she had taken it to a local “Apple authorized repair center” in the Philadelphia area (we won’t say who) who said that they could do it. After removing the bezel (the white frame around the screen), the “repairman” removed the sleep magnet, forgot where to put it back, and decided that he couldn’t do the repair. Not knowing that the sleep magnet was removed, Vida closed the Macbook (expecting it to go to sleep) and brought the Macbook home. She gave us a call, and we came out to her apartment to do the repair.

Everything went well until we went to turn the Macbook on after the repair. The screen lit up with a gray circle with a cross through it, which means that there is something definitely wrong with the hard drive. What we think happened was that since the Macbook wasn’t truly asleep, the hard drive became damaged from the computer being moved around.

We replaced the hard drive at cost ($60) and spent a day moving all of her files from her old corrupted drive to the new 320GB drive (for free!). Needless to say, Vida was super excited to have her screen fixed, all of her files back, and her hard drive upgraded for free. What can I say, we’re kind of awesome.

You can check out Vida’s review of us on Yelp here.
