Broken bezel? Check. Bent keyboard? Check. Covered in red nail polish? Check. Repaired same day? Check…

Brittny saw one of our Septa platform ads in University City and did a triple-take. Her bezel (the frame around the screen of her Macbook Pro) was cracked all the way through and the keyboard was bent at an incredible angle. She had taken it to Best Buy where they told her she would be paying $1,000 for the repair. With the bezel replacement, keyboard replacement, and nearly an hour spent cleaning red nail polish off of her screen, our same-day repair with pickup and dropoff was only $429.
We met Brittny at her sorority house, picked up her computer (because of the extent of the damage, it was impossible to do it in front of her) and dropped it off a few hours later. She was so excited to be able to use her computer as a laptop again! And for less than half the price of what she thought she would be paying!

Macbook Pro screen repair needed in LA.

Dan was not a happy camper. We was napping at his mother’s house with his Macbook Pro resting on the arm of the couch. You can probably figure out what happened next. Unfortunately for Dan, he woke up to the crashing sound of his Mac Pro hitting the ground. When he picked it up and looked at it, he was not too thrilled with what he saw – a cracked LCD screen. The computer was fine but the right side of the laptop screen was not looking good. Knowing he would have to pay Apple a fortune to get it fixed, he decided to look elsewhere for a repair.
Fortunately for us, he did several Internet searches for things like “LCD monitor repair,” “cracked LCD repair,” “Macintosh repair,” “broken laptop screen fix.” It wasn’t until he included Los Angeles and Santa Monica did he find our Mac screen repair service. A quick glance at our site and a phone call later, he was able to schedule an appointment with us at a Panera Bread in Santa Monica, right off the 405. In less than an hour we had Dan on his way with a brand new looking Mac Pro screen. We all can learn from Dan in that when we’re snoozing, it’s best to keep our laptops close and far, far away from arm rests.

A cell phone charger swinging like a pendulum will definitely destroy your Macbook Pro screen…

Diane called us today after seeing one of our Septa train ads in University City. Her Macbook Pro has had a broken screen for the last 8 months. She teaches graphic design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia, so having a working screen is definitely a top priority. But paying $800 to get it fixed isn’t something that Diane was going to do. So she has been using an external monitor for the last 8 months before seeing our ad.
See called us up, and we were at her house in an hour. Her Macbook Pro was fixed in another 30 minutes and she was thrilled to be able to get back to doing her graphic design work. She was even more excited to be able to do it somewhere other than her desk!

Briccio emailed us a few days ago about his 15-inch 2.16ghz Macbook Pro. He said that he didn’t think the LCD was “cracked”, but the image was cracked and distorted. We emailed him back, explaining the Ship-In Program. He emailed us on a Tuesday, so we overnighted him a laptop box that day.
He received it on Wednesday, and dropped off the laptop box at FedEx using the included overnight label. We received it on Thursday, and Briccio received it this morning. All three-way overnight shipping was free. He emailed us today to say “You guys provide a wonderful service. Cheers”.
Cheers to you too Briccio!

Unibody Macbooks and Macbook Pros have black keys…

Lisa emailed us last week about the cracked screen on her 15-inch 2.4ghz Macbook Pro Unibody. We emailed her back to find out what was cracked, the glass or the LCD. She confirmed that it was the LCD, and we told her that the price is $499, and it would involve removing the glass, removing the display assembly, replacing the screen, and putting the glass back on. We agreed to pick up her Macbook Pro from her at the Moore College of Art and Design and drop it off later in the day.
All went according to plan until we went to pick up her computer, when we saw that she didn’t have a “Unibody” Macbook Pro after all, she had an aluminum previous generation Macbook Pro. The repair would be $100 less @ $499. She was obviously happy!
Lesson learned for both of us. For us, to always make sure that we know what kind of computer we are fixing. For anyone reading this blog, make sure you know what kind of computer you have. Unibody Macbooks and Macbook Pros have black keys. End of story!
