We got a call from Soh earlier this afternoon. She had been walking around with a shattered screen for several weeks when she noticed one of our fliers on the UCSD campus. Minutes later we were on the phone setting up a time and place to meet to repair her cracked Macbook.

Geisel Library has been a common meeting location for many of the students at UCSD who have unfortunately broken their screens. Soh said this would be a fine place to meet since she would be able to get some work done while waiting. We met there and took a look at her computer. It was an amazing sight – she had Hello Kitty stickers covering all of the keys. Quite impressive, actually. She expressed concern that she would have to lose some of these stickers because of the repair. We ensured her that it wouldn’t be necessary to remove any of her collection. Within forty-five minutes we had her Macbook screen back in working order without any of the cats harmed or tampered with.

If you are interested in a repair and aren’t ready for a repair, we’ll probably text you once a month until you are ready…

Meridith called us last September and told us about her broken screen on her Macbook. She had called her mother in New York and told her the bad news, but told her that she found us from a flyer on campus so she had a solution. Unfortunately though, she didn’t have the money saved up for the repair. She told us that she would give us a call back later. Since she never told us her name, I wrote down “girl with little girl voice” (you’ll get why later) on a post-it note and posted it on my external monitor.

Every month or so, we would text her and let her know about 3 day “vacation” sales that we were having, and she would reply that she wasn’t ready yet. Miraculously, she texted us yesterday and said that she was finally ready. The funny thing was that we never knew her name, so after probably sending 20 or so texts back and forth to schedule the repair, we had to say “What is your name by the way?”

After meeting her at Kardon apartments on Temple’s campus, we joked about the “little girl voice” thing, and she was laughing that people say that she has a small voice all the time.

30 minutes later, her screen was fixed and she could stop going to the Temple U Tech Center to do work.

We got a call this week from Billy in Jenkintown. His son Jimmy (these sound like fake names, no?) had broken the screen on his white Macbook and needed it to be fixed. We scheduled the repair for today, and were greeted by the entire family in the living room, on the edge of their seats waiting to watch the repair process.

After a short (and very talkative) 30 minutes, Jimmy’s screen was replaced and the dog was asleep. All in a days work for the CrackedMacScreen.com crew.

It’s always good to hammer down exactly what model Macbook you have before we attempt to repair it…

We got a call last week from Tyray in Philadelphia. (I swear) he had a 13-inch Macbook and needed to get it repaired. He also had a hard drive that needed to be replaced. Luckily, we had a few lying around and brought a hard drive pre-installed with Leopard with us to the repair. But when our Repair Tech went to his apartment in Center City Philly, he didn’t have a 13-inch Macbook. He had a 2.33 Ghz Macbook Pro. Needless to say, this was a problem. We obviously do those repairs, but our Repair Tech didn’t have those screens on him.

So, after retrieving the screens, an hour later the repair was finally started, and Tyray’s Macbook Pro was repaired in 45 minutes, with a new hard drive installed in 5. He was an extremely happy camper.

If you live outside of our service area and want to take a day trip to Philly, the repair wouldn’t cost more…

Maizie gave us a call a few days ago. She is a teacher in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and she obviously had broken the screen on her white 13-inch Macbook. Because she lives at the shore and it’s winter, it’s as she says “essentially a ghost town”. This isn’t a good thing when looking for a local Macbook screen repair company. So she went on Google and did some searches. First for “cracked Macbook screen Delaware”, then “broken lcd Macbook Delaware”, then “Apple laptop screen fix Philadelphia” and a bunch of other combinations. Good thing that for every search our website came up #1 on Google!

Maizie decided it would be easier for her to come into Philly since Rehoboth Beach is way outside of our service area. She made a day trip out of it and met up with her friend at the Belgian Cafe at 2047 Green Street in Philly. She enjoyed lunch and then enjoyed a brand new screen on her Macbook.
