John gave us a call last weekend from San Diego State University. He had broken his screen after a late night at college, and was desperate to get it fixed. He had poured over different services online and liked the fact that if he was to break his screen again, we would only charge $100.

We agreed to meet at the library at SDSU today. His Macbook was repaired in about 25 minutes, and he couldn’t have been happier.

If Apple tells you to look on Craigslist for a more affordable screen repair solution, hopefully you find us…

We got a call tonight from Beth in Mt. Airy. She had found our ad on Craigslist and had some questions. Her son Anthony had just broken the screen on his 13-inch white Macbook last week, and they had called Applecare to see how much the repair would be. The technician on the phone told her that “Honestly, you are better off looking on Craigslist for someone who will do it cheaper than us.” So, she went on Philadelphia’s Craigslist and the first ad she saw was ours!

She really liked that if Anthony broke his screen again we’d fix it for only $100.

We met her and her son at their home in Mt. Airy an hour later and his computer was back in action in 25 minutes.

If you aren’t anywhere near one of our local branches, you could ship us your Macbook or Macbook Pro…

We got a call last week from Judy, who lives a few hours outside of Baltimore. She saw on MyBiggestComplaint.com that we have a branch in Baltimore, so she wanted to know when she could get her Macbook Pro’s screen replaced. Unfortunately for Judy, our Baltimore branch is opening in two weeks. She told us that she needs her Macbook Pro repaired quick, so she offered to ship her Macbook Pro to us because driving to Philadelphia would take way too long.

She ended up shipping her Macbook Pro to a friend in Reading, PA, which worked out perfectly for us. A member of our Repair Team met her friend at his house in Reading, and Judy’s Macbook Pro was fixed in about a half an hour. Not exactly same-day service, but she ended up paying 1/2 what she would have at the Store.

We received a call today from Wendy in Lafayette Hill. She actually has two Macbooks with broken screens. A white Macbook and a unibody Macbook with cracked glass. She told us that her daughter and son are quite prone to breaking things. She had taken both computers to the Store and was told that each repair would cost $600. She marched right out of there and knew exactly who to call!

We scheduled the repair for the white Macbook tonight and the unibody she is going to get repaired in January. We met her at her home, and got started. Once we had removed the broken screen of the white 13-inch Macbook, Wendy thought somehow that we were going to then take the computer away and finish the repair later. We explained that yes, we actually replace the screen right now with a brand new screen. She was amazed! The repair was done 10 minutes later and her daughter finally had her Macbook back.

If you call our 888 number and you get a busy signal, you definitely dialed the wrong number…

We got a call last night from Maya W., a high school student at Science Leadership Academy. She had broken her computer a few months ago so was using her dad’s white Macbook at school when she dropped it and broke the screen. She immediately took her Macbook to Science Leadership Academy’s Systems Administrator / Computer Support Specialist Chris Alfano. He knew exactly who to refer her to. He gave her our 888 number and website, and she gave us a call a day later. Unfortunately for Maya (and for us), she called the wrong number. After a week or two of trying to no avail, she realized that she had written the number down wrong. With the correct number (finally!), she called us up and explained the situation.

We scheduled the repair for this morning at her home in Philadelphia. A member of our Repair Team met her at 10am and her dad’s Macbook was good as new by 10:30am.

What’s the lesson here? Our 888 number does not have a busy signal. It either rings or goes straight to voicemail. If you hear a busy signal, check our website again for the right number! :)
