Snow and Macbook Pros don’t mix…

We got a call and an email from Joseph at University of Pennsylvania last Friday. He had a 15-inch 2.5 ghz Macbook Pro that had a broken screen that he wanted to get fixed. He dropped it in the snow last winter and had been using the Macbook Pro with an external monitor for the last 8 months or so.

We scheduled the repair for today at 12pm, met him at his apartment on UPenn’s campus, and completed the repair in 45 minutes. He looked like a kid in a candy shop with his basically brand new Macbook. He can finally use it as a laptop again!

We got a call from JoAlicanne F. from Temple U. last week about a 13-inch white Macbook that she had broken. We missed her first call, but she left a wonderfully detailed message on our voicemail. We here at CrackedMacScreen.com love detailed voicemails. So back to the story. JoAlicanne broke her 13-inch white Macbook by dropping it off the bed. She loves her Macbook and has had it for 3 years or so, so she desperately wanted to get it fixed. We scheduled a repair for Tuesday September 22nd at 9:30am.

Unfortunately for us, JoAlicanne overslept through her appointment, awaking at 12pm in the afternoon. But it was absolutely no problem at all for us. We rescheduled her appointment for today (Wednesday) at 10am at the Laptop Lounge at Temple University’s SAC. We met her at 10 and we were done by 10:45am.

Jason called us from the University of Michigan. He has been extremely busy this past month being a freshman at U of M. He’s been so busy, in fact, that he hasn’t had time to take care of his white 13-inch Macbook! He was watching a DVD while going to bed when he closed the lid of his Macbook, slid it under his pillow, and went to sleep. He woke up to a loud CRASH. Needless to say, his screen was broken and he has been in desperate need of a repair ever since.

Throwing your Macbook like a frisbee is never a good idea…

We received a call and an email from Taylor M. from Oakland University. One of her roommates had taken her black Macbook and thrown it across the room like a frisbee in a fit of rage and the Macbook’s screen didn’t survive. Luckily for Taylor, we were able to come repair her computer within an hour and her friend offered to pay for the screen. And even luckier for her friend, we charge about 1/3 the cost of the big guys.
